Madekwe comes from the mixed race family of South London in England. Her mother is English while her father is Nigerian. She was raised in a south London council estate, and went to The Brit School at age fourteen. She earned her BA in acting from The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. At the academy and performing in numerous stage productions, such as King Henry V as Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe started her acting career through the film Storm Damage. Since then, she's been making guest appearances in films like Teachers, Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Her debut film as a performer was her role in the Woody Allen 2007 movie Cassandra's Dream. She starred alongside Colin Farrell & Ewan MacGregor. Her popularity has led her to be cast in Elisha in a single-off BBC Three drama West 10 LDN pilot, then appear in the six-episode series Trexx and Flipside in the role of Ollie. She also had the opportunity to play the role in the role of Bambi on The ITV2 show drama Secret Diary of a Call Girl which aired in episodes two and three. Madekwe also starred as the lead character in How to lose friends & alienate people that was aired by Sony Pictures Entertainment 2008. Her theatre credits are Little Sweet Thing by Roy Williams as well as Flight Path by David Watson.
Madekwe was chosen to play Ashley Davenport for ABC's show The Beautiful Life. The two-episode series aired for just 2 weeks at The CW and then it ended. In February 2011, she was cast as Ashley Davenport in the ABC drama series Revenge. In late May 2013, it was announced that Madekwe, who had played a regular role in the previous two seasons would be leaving the show with a guest appearance on the premiere episode of the new season. From 2014 until the year 2016, she appeared on Salem as Tituba. Madekwe married her long-time lover, Iddo. The two have collaborated in the show Secret Diary of a Call Girl in the past, and Goldberg was also on the show with Madekwe on the show Salem.

Ashley Leggat, a twice Gemini nominated actress, was raised in a big family in Hamilton, Ontario. Four of her older brothers were also present including twins Todd and Bram, Brett & Rob. Ashley grew in arenas or baseball parks because her brothers, who were all athletic, played baseball, hockey, as well as both during summer and winter. Ashley didn't walk, instead she would dance. In the age of two and a half, she was introduced to Baby Ballet. Ashley began to be a dancer immediately after that. Ashley competed in top-level divisions of tap, jazz ballet, hip hop, Acrobatics, Lyrical Musical Theatre and pointe, until she finished in high school. Every important dance competitions, including International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, have awarded her the title "top soloist".
