LeBron Raymone James Sr. is an American professional basketball player that plays with the Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association. Nicknamed King James he is widely thought of as one of the most successful athletes of all time. He is often compared to Michael Jordan in debates over the best basketball player of all time. James has won four NBA championships and four NBA MVPs as well as three MVPs of the All-Star team and the two Olympic medals. James has earned the second most career goals and seventh most assists. He has been selected as an NBA All-Star 18 times. James has been named as an NBA All-Star 18 times to the All-NBA Team a record 18 times, and was named to his place on the NBA All-Defensive First Team five times. He has played in the 10 NBA Finals, the third-most of all time. The streak spans eight consecutive years between 2011 and 2018. James was selected to the NBA's 75th Anniversary Team for 2021. He was the NBA's first player to score 10,000 points, rebounds and assists in 2022. James played basketball with St. Vincent St. Mary High School in Akron Ohio, where he lived his entire life. The national media praised James as a future NBA superstar. He was a pro-prep player and was selected as the highest selection from the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Draft of 2003. In his time as the NBA rookie of the year 2004, he established himself quickly as one the top players in the league, winning the NBA MVP award for 2009 and 2010. James, who was unable to take home the title at Cleveland in 2010 quit as a free-agent and signed with in the Miami Heat. This was revealed by the book The Decision.
