She released her debut single, Here in 2015, when she was just aged 19. It received lots of praise and was well-received both by critics and listeners. It reached the top 19 of both the Billboard Hot 100 in Canada and also on the Canadian Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone called the song one of their Top Songs in 2015. The singer released her debut Know It All album in the same year. The third track, Scars to Your Beautiful was the first of five tracks that made it to the top charts on Billboard including Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 in addition to Billboard Hot 100. This track was special since, in light of her Rap-Up interview she gave many of people who listened to her music could identify with her journey of discovering their own love and rethinking their beliefs about her. Cara is known for incorporating messages about mental health kindness and self-love into her music. The music of Cara is directly from her battle with mental illness, insomnia and other issues. In 2013, she performed her favorite songs for YouTube the most popular social media site. This was to demonstrate that she had the ability and the confidence to pursue a career as an artist.
