The singer released her debut single Here in 2015, when she was just aged 19. The track was highly praised by critics as well as the public. It reached 19th place on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the Canadian Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone ranked the song among the 2015's most memorable Songs. Her debut Know It All album in the year that followed. The third single, Scars to Your Beautiful was one of five songs that reached the top of the charts on Billboard as well as the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 in addition to Billboard Hot 100. The track is special because, based on her interview with Rap-Up that she conducted, many of her listeners were able to connect to her experiences of learning to love themselves and rethinking their beliefs about her.
