In the year 2015, at age 19, she published her first debut single Here. The song received praise both from music critics and listeners. It was ranked in the Canadian Hot 100, and Billboard Hot 100, ranked it at 19. Even Rolling Stone called the song one of their Top Songs in the year 2015. This same year, she also released Know It All. Scars to Your Beautiful is one of the five tracks that were the first to reach Billboard's chart. It was a special track because, based on her Rap-Up interview she did with the listeners could identify with her journey of discovering their own love and rethinking their beliefs about her. Cara's music is known to be filled with messages of kindness as well as self-love and mental wellbeing. Her inspiration for her music stems from her personal struggles in overcoming mental health issues as well as insomnia. According to a Reuters interview, she described the album as being half turbulent and half perfected. The growth of her career was helped through therapy. She also encourages her fellow singers when they need to seek help. Alessia Cara was born to Italian parents on the 11th of July 1996. At the age of 10 old her parents gave her a guitar that became the starting point of her musical passion. She started covering her favorite songs when she was 13, to prove to everyone that she had the skills and the courage necessary to be a singer. One of the songs Sweater Weather ended up getting noticed by a label known as EP Entertainment which allowed her to write and create her tracks.
