Her debut song Here came out in 2015. The song received praise both from music critics and listeners. The Canadian Hot 100, and Billboard Hot 100, ranked it as 19. Even Rolling Stone called the track one of the Top Songs in the year 2015. That same year, she debuted her album Know It All with the third track Scars to Your Beautiful being the first of five tracks which peaked on the Billboard charts, including those of the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 as well as the Billboard Hot 100. According to an interview Cara did together with Rap Up, this particular track had lots of significance for a lot people who listened to her tale of accepting and loving your self. Cara's tracks often contain positive thoughts about mental health, and the importance of being self-love. The music that she has written stems from her personal struggles in overcoming mental health issues and insomnia. Interview with Reuters she said that her album was "half turbulent" and "half complete". Therapy helped her grow and urges people to try it too. Alessia Cara grew up in Toronto in Canada. She was born July 11, 1996 to parents of Italian heritage. When she was just 10 years old, her parents gifted her a guitar, which was the foundation of her passion for music. At 13 years old, she began covering her favorite songs on YouTube an important media platform in order to demonstrate to the world that she had the talents and the determination to be a singer. Actually she covered one of her song Sweater Weather was the song that got her noticed by EP Entertainment. They allowed her to write as well as record herself tracks.
