According to a Reuters interview, she describes her album as half tumultuous and half perfected. Therapy helped her grow and advises people to seek help if necessary. Alessia Cara, a Canadian musician was born in Canada on July 11, 1996 to Italian parents of Italian descent. When she was 10 years old her parents gave her a guitar, which was the foundation of her love for music. She began covering her favourite songs at age thirteen to show everyone that she could sing and had the courage necessary to be an artist. One of her tracks, Sweater Weather, was the first thing that made her stand out. EP Entertainment gave her an opportunity to develop and record her own tracks.
